Johannesburg’s history is all about gold and the dramatic changes it brought! Here’s a quick look
Gold Rush (1886): Founded on farmland after a massive gold discovery. The Witwatersrand gold reef attracted fortune seekers from around the globe, sparking a boom.
Rapid Growth: The city grew incredibly fast, transforming from a small village to a bustling metropolis within a decade.
Apartheid Era: Johannesburg became a center of finance and industry, but also racial segregation. Apartheid policies restricted Black South Africans’ opportunities and living conditions.

This was not our first time going to here. It is a great place to shop not too far from Europe. We took the bus from Port Authority and traveled through the countryside to get there.

We always stay at here when in town. The location is great, staff is wonderful and we love the overall feel. Beautiful view from the here.
